He completed his higher education at Kharkiv and Donetsk State Universities.

In 1980, he was awarded the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences; in 1996, he earned the degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.

Scientific interests

Nonlinear mathematical physics, nonlinear dynamics, soliton theory, spintronics, magnonics.

Research topics: analytical and numerical methods in soliton theory and nonlinear wave processes; dynamics of nonlinear excitations/solitons in low-dimensional and structured media, finite-dimensional and discrete systems; nonlinear surface and interface waves and solitons; localized states of nonlinear waves (solitons) in nonlinear structured media with metasurfaces and their stability; spatial localization (superlocalization) of nonlinear waves in anharmonic periodic media; theory of nonlinear phenomena in magnetically ordered and optical media; applications to the nonlinear dynamics of spin systems, non-uniform topological spin textures, and magnetic micro- and nanostructures.

He is the author of over 200 scientific, educational and methodological publications, including articles in leading scientific journals indexed by the international scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science.

the honor of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in volleyball competitions among veterans. He is a multiple winner of the Ukrainian Cup and the Kyiv Cup.
